Design features
This Project was a large undertaking. The space, 18,000 square foot of brand-new CAT A commercial area overlooking Tower Bridge, represented an exciting and creative challenge that we really wanted to excel ourselves on. We started with a vigorous design process that went through multiple stages, iterations and modifications from DAY 2 options to Sublet annexation possibilities.
The client specified a need to move away from the idea of a conventional office in their new space; this meant embracing hotdesking instead of traditional fixed workstations. We created a variable topography to the office by integrating hot desking and breakout areas that were sunken 150mm into the floor. This effect was further enhanced by the introduction of an upper level for certain meeting rooms and trading areas.
This design very much focused on breaking away from the norm of a corporate workspace. We went for a stark industrial design overall combined with softer aspects arising from flooring, furniture and fabric choices that brightened the design and made the space more welcoming. Notable industrial features include the bespoke made mesh balustrades and overhanging gantries above sunken areas and kitchen island; these features were then softened using bright fabrics, hanging plants and copper lighting to contrast nicely against their black frames. The view from windows on the south west of the building was impressive; and so, we made sure to emphasise this through our design. We placed a circular informal meeting space accessed via a spiral staircase, overlooking tower bridge and the river Thames. The same view was capitalised on for the placement of the kitchen which took advantage of the London skyline and a large sun terrace connected to it.
“The reason we have partnered with Kinetic on multiple fit-out and relocation projects now, is due to the level of service and attention to detail we receive. They have set a precedent on the standard of work delivered and responsiveness that is second to none. They always talk you through any decision that needs to be made, providing numerous solutions and alternatives to sometimes difficult building constraints and restrictions and it’s always with a smile. The successful delivery of our recent fit-out; on time, on budget and whilst navigating the complexities of COVID-19 throughout the build, is a testament to their ability and the end result is simply stunning. One very happy customer who can’t wait to get back to the office to enjoy the beautiful space we’ve created!”

Working through COVID-19
The hardest part of this project was having to down tools due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Every aspect of our expertise was exercised and necessary to ensure that everything in our timeline scope was adequately reorganised and the site made safe ready for recommencement. The arrival of COVID-19 made this project more challenging than we first thought but we were still able to complete in the amount of time we had outlined from the start. The finished product is testament to our ability to think on the move and adapt to changing situations.
Ultimately, this project was an immensely invigorating challenge which allowed us to fully channel our creativity and use every area of our expertise; We believe the results speak for themselves.
